Announcing The Dance SF: San Francisco Dance Marathon to Support Homeless Youth & Vibrant Community

Party Corps, At The Crossroads and MoreSF announce The Dance SF, a dance marathon challenge for Bay Area companies, leaders, celebrities, friends and neighbors to aid homeless youth. On Saturday, October 11, individual and organized teams of dancers from every skill level will dance for eight hours, from 9am to 5pm, to raise money for two outstanding Bay Area nonprofit organizations, At the Crossroads and Party Corps.

Debates about housing, transportation, and the economic divide have been creating headlines and hashtags for months.  The Dance SF is an opportunity to quiet the critics and unite the city for one amazing day of music and dance. Party Corps’ Founder and Executive Director Leila Monroe explained how this event will bring San Francisco together: “The Dance SF will strengthen community through an intensely fun, bonding experience. We are calling on the whole city to dance in support of those young people who are struggling to survive.”

Inspired by the At The Crossroads (ATC) “I Think I Can Campaign”, Party Corps launched The Dance SF to raise money and awareness in support of ATC’s programs and services, and to further Party Corps’ mission to connect the public to grassroots nonprofits through music.  “This event will help us serve hundreds of youth, reaching out to them directly in the streets and committing to help them find jobs, housing, and assistance they need to live fulfilling lives,” said Rob Gitin, Founder and Executive Director of At The Crossroads.

"We're happy to support Party Corps' The Dance SF as it is a unique opportunity for various sectors throughout the city to come together, have fun and raise money for a great organization (At The Crossroads) that serves homeless teens in San Francisco," said Alex Tourk, Managing Director of, an organization created to leverage the power of the technology community around civic action in San Francisco.

Co-Producer Matt Haze Kaftor of MoreSF will bring his experience with epic SF dance parties like Sea of Dreams and Ghost Ship to deliver a day of diverse and irresistible dance music. Dancers will compete for The Dance SF honors like best choreographed dance, best costumes, and most endurance.  The Bay Area’s finest food and beverage purveyors will sustain dancers, while yoga, aerial-dance, and massage will keep all entertained.

Joining inaugural teams like the Carmelita Group and JRNE Artist Management, companies, organizations, and individuals can join form teams or sign-up individually to join The Dance SF and begin raising money.  All proceeds will support At The Crossroads and Party Corps as they work to make San Francisco a vibrant, safe, and equitable city.  Visit the website for more information about The Dance SF.
